Brown-Bag Lunch Talks at CMCP offer Food for Thought
Ottawa - January 27, 2000
Les causeries-midis du MCPC : Pour nourrir la réflexion
Ottawa, Canada - 7 January 2000 - Beginning January 27, 2000, lunchtime in downtown Ottawa will become a bit more enlightened. The Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography is pleased to offer Brown-bag lunch talks every Thursday at 12:15 pm. Visitors may bring their own lunch and CMCP will provide the food for thought (and the coffee) free of charge.
Participants of Let's Talk Photo! may enjoy their lunch with a 20-minute presentation on two or three photographs featured in a current CMCP exhibition. Everyone is then invited to explore the galleries on their own. The programme is offered in English the first and third Thursday of each month, and in French the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
"Let's Talk Photo! was initiated to respond to a need from visitors who drop in to the Museum over their lunch breaks", stated CMCP Director Martha Hanna. "They take a quick tour of the exhibitions, but don't have time to get an in-depth understanding of the works. By taking part in Let's Talk Photo!, they can focus on a couple of works, discuss related topics in contemporary photography, and liven up their lunch hour in the process".
No registration is required.
The CMCP is an affiliate museum of the National Gallery of Canada.
