CMCP extends its open hours

Ottawa, Canada - July 18, 2000

Le MCPC prolonge ses heures d'ouverture »
On 15 July, the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography will extend its hours to better accommodate its visitors. CMCP will be open to the public for an additional 15 hours every week in the summer and 5 hours more each week during the winter. As well, the museum's summer period will extend for an extra month, continuing to Thanksgiving.
The new hours mean that this summer, up to and including 9 October, the museum will be open every day from 10 am to 6 pm and until 8 pm on Thursday. On 10 October, winter hours come into effect and the museum will be open Wednesday to Sunday 10 am to 5 pm, until 8 pm on Thursday, and closed on Monday and Tuesday. CMCP is pleased to continue to offer free admission every day.

The new hours will make CMCP's hours uniform with those of the National Gallery of Canada.

CMCP's three summer exhibitions - the very popular group show Shifting Sites which highlights the works of emerging artists; Le Détroit, stunning colour photographs by acclaimed artist Stan Douglas; and From the Collection: Personalities, portraits of outstanding Canadians - continue until 17 September 2000. A new Fall program of exhibitions will begin on 6 October 2000.
