Ron Mueck’s characters are attracting crowds: More than 30,000 visitors in less than a month!

Ottawa - April 2, 2007

Since its opening on 2 March, the exhibition Ron Mueck, a Canadian exclusivity at the National Gallery of Canada, has seen more than 30,000 visitors. This exhibition groups Mueck’s largest collection of works since the beginning of his career.

“We knew we were onto something big with Mueck, and we’re always happy to see visitors share our enthusiasm and respond in such large numbers to our invitations,” says Pierre Théberge, director of the National Gallery of Canada, after a fourth crowded weekend at the Gallery.

The exhibition Ron Mueck is organized by the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain (Paris), in collaboration with the National Gallery of Canada, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Ron Mueck is presented by the National Gallery of Canada Foundation until 6 May 2007.

Admission to this exhibition includes access to the exhibition Robert Davidson: The Abstract Edge, a Haida artist whose colourful sculptural and pictorial works discuss our relationship to nature.
