Illumination: A teen-curated on-line exhibitionIllumination gave a group of young people the opportunity to frame and share their responses to images. Fourteen members of the National Gallery of Canada's Teen Council curated an on-line exhibition of works selected from the permanent collection of the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography. They began with a list of artists for whom reproduction rights had already been cleared. The teens based their selection on the theme of "light," and on their intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic responses to the images. A creative writing workshop helped them to articulate and shape their responses. Presented alongside the images that inspired them, these responses give voice to the creativity and concerns of teens. |
