Canadian artist Lynne Cohen uses light to define space and create mood. Flat, artificial light gives many of her photographs of unpopulated interiors a cool, dispassionate feeling. It is difficult to determine where the light is coming from in this photograph of a laboratory. The space feels enclosed and expansive at the same time.
