Colour Temperature
All light sources have their own colour or colour temperature. Colour temperature is expressed in degrees Kelvin.
The colour of daylight changes throughout the day. Colour temperature in the early morning and evening is warmer (appears pink) than at midday (appears white). This difference is visible. Many photographers prefer early morning or late afternoon lighting conditions.

The majority of colour film is balanced to daylight lighting conditions. When daylight film is used in artificial light that has a different colour temperature from it, photographers must use a colour-correction filter on the camera. The result is a colour-balanced photograph.
