An emerging characteristic among the younger generation of Inuit artists is the use of innovative materials in place of or in conjunction with traditional carving stone and bone. Ungalaq is one such artist. While the inspiration for this work seems to be Inuit mythology, Sedna with a Hair Brush is decidedly untraditional in its rendering.
