Pudlo immediately accepted and used the plane in his art, made possible the discovery of the world from an entirely new perspective. Musk-ox are rarely found on Baffin Island; he had seen them for the first time from the air, while flying home from a hospital stay in the South. This explains why his drawing of the animal is inaccurate, since certain details would have escaped him from a distance. We can observe Pudlo's skill with the pencil in the many lines that follow the curves of the beast to emphasize its mass and heaviness of movement.
