Border in Four Parts depicts the slight shifts of perception that occurred when Falk changed her point of view when photographing the garden. Starting on the left, the first panel represents the beginnings of the garden border, comprised of luxuriant flowers and the neighbour's house, visible beyond. The next canvas shows portions of the first, but it also shows more of the centre of the garden. The third canvas repeats part of the centre and offers new details of the garden. In the final frame, the foxgloves of the border are repeated and the front yard's Christmas tree is introduced. The four panels of overlapping images, each measuring seven-and-a-half feet by seven feet, are separated from each other by nine inches when hung on a wall.
