Davidialuk Alasua Amittu
Davidialuk Amittu Alasua loved to tell stories and to illustrate the events of his life and his family’s. He was a tireless chronicler of his people and the myths and legends of his culture. Davidialuk was born in 1910. He began sculpting during the 1950s and later went on to drawing and printmaking. His images were part of the Puvirnituq workshop’s first collection of prints in 1961. During the artist’s lifetime, the print studio produced more than 90 of his prints.
