1958

Ron Mueck was born in Melbourne, Australia. The son of toy-makers, Mueck was exposed early on to the techniques used to enliven inert objects.

1980

End of 1980?s: Ron Mueck works as a puppet- and model-maker in film and advertising in Australia, the United States and finally London, England, where he still lives.



1990

Ron Mueck starts a mannequin-making enterprise for advertisements. He begins experimenting with fiberglass, which becomes his signature medium.

1996

Ron Mueck collaborates with his mother-in-law, the artist Paula Rego, for whom he produces small mannequins for one of her paintings, one of which is a sculpture of Pinocchio. His hyper-realist sculptures are noticed by renowned art patron Charles Saatchi, catapulting Mueck into the limelight in the world of contemporary art.



1997

Guy Ben-ner completes his Bachelor of Education at Hamidrasha Art College in Ramat Hasharon.

The exhibit Sensation at the Royal Academy of Arts is a revelation of Ron Mueck's talent.

2001

Ron Mueck shows his five-metre « Boy » at the Venice Biennale.

Guy Ben-Ner and his family move to New York City.
