Counting Circles: Grade K-3
Summary
Students will look at the bands of colour and try to estimate how many rings of colour there are. Afterwards as a group, they will design a plan to actually count them. They will try to find a pattern in the colours and decide whether each colour is equal in diameter.
Theory:
Students will understand magnitude by counting forward and backward by various numbers and from various starting points.
Creation:
Students will collect and organize categorical/discrete primary data and display the data using a chart.
Analysis:
Students will describe and extend the numeric and geometric patterns.
