Grade K-3
A Unity Wall Drawing:
After exploring a selection of works from the NGC collection that focus on certain aspects of the social history of the African diaspora, students will create a unity wall drawing to symbolize our unique Canadian heritage and their contribution to this multicultural mosaic.
Grade 4-6
My Mask, My Voice:
After exploring a selection of works from the NGC collection that focus on certain aspects of the social history of the African diaspora, students will create a three- dimensional mask and thereby contribute to the cultural landscape of this country.
Grade 7-8
From Africa to Canada:
After exploring a selection of works from the NGC collection that focus on certain aspects of the social history of the African diaspora, students will create a three dimensional figure that emphasizes the unique contribution of Africans to Canadian society.
Grade 9-12
A cultural portrait:
After exploring a selection of works from the NGC collection that focus on certain aspects of the social history of the African diaspora, students will make a self-portrait that explores their heritage and emphasizes their own unique cultural identity.
