Claes Oldenburg
Claes Oldenburg was born in Stockholm in 1929 and studied at Yale and the Art Institute of Chicago from 1946-52, before moving to New York in 1956, where he continues to live. Since his early Performance Art of the 1960s, he has been concerned with visual and spatial relationships, and with providing an ironic commentary on consumer culture. Oldenburg?s design concepts are commercially manufactured into artworks.
