Betty Goodwin was born in Montreal in 1923 where she continues to live and work. Largely self-taught she became a practicing professional artist in 1947. In the mid-1960s she explored printmaking but from 1975 to the present, she has concentrated mainly on drawing, sculpture and installation pieces. She is the recipient of several awards including the Paul Emile Borduas(1986) and the Gershon Iskowitz Prize (1995).
