Czechoslovakian article about the Canadian Painting in the Thirties opening at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. A group of Toronto-based artists, responsive to contemporary social and formalist currents, sought a new direction in Canadian art. Illustrated by Paraskeva Clark?s Petroushka (1937).
