A report of the opening, by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, of the exhibition Canadian Painting in the Thirties, on view at the National Gallery of Canada until 2 March 1975. The exhibition will then travel to the Vancouver Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Glenbow-Alberta Institute, Calgary, Edmonton Art Gallery, Saskatoon Gallery and Conservatory Corporation (Mendel Art Gallery), and Musée d?art contemporain de Montréal. Curated by Charles Hill, the show includes over 100 paintings, and is accompanied by an exhibition catalogue. It traces the development of painting, beginning with The Group of Seven and Canadian Group of Painters.
