An announcement that the exhibition Canadian Painting in the Thirties is on view at the National Gallery of Canada. With over 100 paintings, the show explores the development of painting from a nationalist Toronto-based scene, which was influenced by the Group of Seven, to an internationalist Montreal-based school centred around John Lyman. The exhibition will travel across Canada, stopping in the fall at the Musée d?art contemporain de Montréal.
