An article on the opening of Canadian Painting in the Thirties at the National Gallery of Canada, where some guests wore straw boaters or feather boas, as suggested by the Gallery?s volunteer association. Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, accompanied by his wife, officially opened the exhibition of over 100 paintings, which will later go on a national tour. The show examines the period from the 1920s, with the work of the Group of Seven, to the beginning of World War II.
