This article by Ninon Gauthier was written following her lecture on November 30, 1975 at the Musée d?art contemporain de Montréal. She critiques the approach of two journalists (Gilles Toupin and Henry Lehmann), who, in recent articles, described an exhibition of Marcel Barbeau?s works as ?reactionary?. In their respective articles these two journalists explained, among other things, their interest in Canadian art of the 1930s.
