An announcement of Canadian Painting in the Thirties, organized by the National Gallery of Canada, on view at the Mendel Art Gallery. Charles C. Hill, Assistant Curator at the National Gallery of Canada, organized the exhibition .The dominant theme during the Depression was the movement between polarities: from nationalism to internationalism, from the Group of Seven to the Contemporary Arts Society, from Toronto to Montreal. The exhibition consists of 130 paintings and documentary photographs borrowed from public and private collections. The show will travel to major centres across Canada and will be on view at the Mendel Art Gallery form October 16 to November 17.
