Announcement of the opening of Canadian Painting in the Thirties at the Edmonton Art Gallery. Guests will dress in 1930s fashion and be entertained by musician Big Miller at the opening of the exhibition. The exhibition, organized by the National Gallery of Canada, explores the development of painting in Canada during the 1930s through works of artists such as A.Y. Jackson, Emily Carr and David Milne. Illustrated with a black and white reproduction of André Bieler?s Gatineau Madonna (1940).
