An announcement of the Canadian Painting in the Thirties exhibition at the Glenbow-Alberta Institute, organized by the National Gallery of Canada. Although the 1930s was a time of hardship and deprivation, a substantial amount of art was produced, depicting both the social conditions and placid landscapes. Announcement is illustrated with a colour reproduction of Miller Brittain?s Longshoremen.
